"By this one-eyed monster most of the world was raised, and by this hero most of the world was saved, and to this master most of the world is slaves"
- Lupe Fiasco
Okay, technically he should have said " most of the world ARE slaves". I won't let my inner English Professor stop me from loving this piece from Lupe Fiasco where he discusses the impact of the proliferation of television sets (yeah I said it) on our minds.
Even I find myself spending an entire day glued to a marathon of " SMIZE-OFF THE ISLAND- NON MUTHA EFFING FACTOR" drivel. I can barely look away from the TV most times to go for a walk on the weekend. It's a bad habit- and one I've gotta break ... so I got dressed and went out to meet an old college friend and have adult conversation. He is a complete nerd- a doctor who spends most of his time with his nose in medical journals and who loves scrabble as much as I do. He actually beat me once- but I had the flu that day. *WINK*
Our night was going well (the economy, politics, unexplained growths on a patient) I was eating it all up... not literally... okay, nevermind. The night was going well like I said, until he told me that he loved my outfit and loved the color yellow on me. In fact, he had seen Keri Hilson in a similar outfit just last week - on BET.
#DEAD.... HAHA. I can't win this battle!
Apparently the television will not be revolutionized at all.
